Chris Thornley - Artist

For the third artist I have choose to do, Chris thornley
Chris Thornley images and amazing professional illustrations, he also enjoys to do photography in his spare time. Chris finds humor in flat depiction of the inconsequential, the unavailing and bizarre. Chris loves realism he uses images with other images that shouldn’t be together and usually you wouldn’t see or think about them being related but somehow out of pure creativeness and imagination he makes it work. E.g –
This picture is of a light bulb with a city inside it at the bottom, the light bulb is a symbol of the sun or power for the city, it’s just a really qwerky way of thinking about stuff (thinking outside the box)
Another design he has done is a picture of 007:
In this design he used the 00 as an 8 on its side which is werid in its self but then if you look and think closer he has made it into the symbol for the number infinity, again its very weird and out side of the box thinking.

All together i think all 3 artist are amazing my favoruite is Olly, i just love his desgin there are no words to describe them, just simple and amazing.

Olly Moss! - Artist

The second artist I am choosing to write about is Olly Moss, this artist is from the UK and he was born in 1987, he is an designer, illustrator and likes to sketch from time to time. He does not do type work, instead most of his images are based around 1 bold bright colour, most of the designs he make say more than what first meet the eye, yeah its looks pretty on the page and old that good stuff, but if you look more closer and deeper into the artist and design itself you will keep on discovering very weird and wonderful thing.

Here is an example: As you can see the design is just of a pair of scissors but when you look more closer at the handle and tilt your head to the side you will see that the handle is in a shape “g”, I like this because its appeals  to all graphic interested audiences, it’s simple to the eye but also very complicated and details to the people who like to look at graphics and designs that way.
If I was to choose who is the better design out of Marian Bantjes and Olly I would say Olly, his designs are just more interesting to look at although Marian Bantjes has some good and unique designs too.

Marian Bantjes! Artists

Introduction -
In this blog I’m going to be talking about 3 different artists from jamie’s blog posts. I will talk about techniques, the style of design I will also be going to be comparing them with the other 2 artists.
Marian Bantjes -
Marian is a designer, typographer, writer and illistrator, she works internationally for her base on a small island just off the west coast of Canada. She is a member of the Alliance  graphiqe internationale (AGI).
In 1984 she worked as a book typesetter, then she moved on to open her own design in 1994 and employed up to 12 people, in 2003 she left all of it be hide and started doing her own she out of love and not money. By making her work highly personal to her, her work became better, even if sometimes It just plain odd and weird. At the same time she was doing this she became making a weblog called “Speak Up” and her articles became noticed by blogosphere, this lead her to be noticed by many art directors in USA North America.

Marian’s art and design is loved my many all over the world. She is most know for her detailed and precise vector art, she is also known for her amazing handwork, and patterns, she is often hired to create custom type for magazine company’s, advertising and special projects.
The techniques that Marian uses are vector images, this image that I have choosen is very simple, it’s just a feather and the title “The Birds” in the feather, but the simplicity makes it look better.
Most of Marian Bantjes design styles are based around patterns, she think of a simple object like a heart and colours it in with different pattens, the end results looks very effective.

Kat Cameron - Vector

Kat is an amazing fun loving illistrator, she gets most of her inpiration for her work from:
love of life, cuteness, fun, japanese inspired, vintage homewares, retro designs, babushka dolls, bold colours, kids toys, childrens books, the dark side, bunnys and kittens.
Kats images are created through drawings and then re-created and refined using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
Kat has done many designs for different companies, some of these are:
.Coke, McDonalds, Orange,
.Mobile, Cadbury, Mambo,
.Daihatsu, EmiratesAirlines,
.FHM, MagazineYEN, Magazine,
.Shell, Stockholm Agency
I like kat’s work because it is very colourful and has little emotion and is done because she loves to do it and not to make money, you can tell this because she is doing stuff that most of the general public
wouldn’t like and understand, she is doing it for herself.

luca Molnar - vector Illistrator

Luca Molnar is a graphic designer and illustrator from Hungary. She has worked as an illustrator since 2006, with her works being featured in magazines all over the world and she has worked for all kinds of companies.

‘My works have a very simply yet complex feeling most of the times. I find it fascinating to create images of something, which doesn’t even exists in our world yet. However at the same time I’m inspired by ancient cultures such as Egypt, Maya or Celtic. I love mixing geometric shapes with neon colors.’

molnar has work like no other it is bright, colourful, shiny and detailed.
She makes the vectors out of inperation from magazines and much more like lyrics.

Jonathan Wong - vector illustrator

Jonathan Wong is a 21 year old male from Limerick, Ireland, he creates amazing pieces of vector imagery, and he studied in the University of Limerick. He has been hired to do graphic design for many well known companies such as: orange, Co. Japan, Photoshop creative and Bleed. My opinion of his work is that is very good, he used bright colours and a lot of flares:
My favoruite piece of work he has done is this:

The colours on this desgin are amazing!

Vector Graphics And Illustration!

Vector graphics are points, lines, curves, shapes or polygons, which are all to do with maths equations, These then create digital images in computers. The digital image that is displayed in made up of pixels, the closer the pixels the better quality it will be, but i will be a bigger file size. Vectors are not always the starting point, some designers would prefer to start by scanning in a scanned drawing then working on it from there these are called raster graphics.
Softwares that are used:
Indesign
Adobe illustrator
Coral draw
Photoshop
